Concrete construction can be a challenge because alterations to stall openings and wall heights are not easily performed. Retrofitting Armour product into openings can be performed by accurate and absolutely correct measurements. Based on stall measurements provided by Armour customers, slight allowances are taken into consideration in the manufacture of custom size products ordered.

The Steele Barn contains Armour’s stall components with some of the most detailed layout procedures. In order to compliment the already poured concrete block structure, custom manufactured 8’0” stall doors with 3’0” height bar top and 5’0” lower lumber insertable panel were ordered to accommodate the existing size stall wall. Tongue and groove southern yellow pine lumber in the 6” size was inserted into the lower portions of each sliding door. Both the stall door and front grille were manufactured so the channel on the center of each sliding door aligns closely with the channel of the adjacent stall grille.

The Steele’s also selected 6” tongue and groove sliding shutters for the rear windows of each stall. Corresponding stall window grilles for each opening provide additional protection to stall occupants. To complete their barn package, the Steele’s selected a set of Armour’s unique patented aluminum End Barn Door Superstructure. The end barn door kit enabled their builder to install and align frames without heavy lumber doors to lift. Once the frames were installed, the Steele’s matching lumber was loaded into the door frames and a consistent interior and exterior lumber panel presented a beautiful and finished appearance throughout their low maintenance barn.

Due to the light weight of each end barn door superstructure panel, frames are easily hung without undue labor costs. Since heavy equipment lifting devices or several person crews are not necessary to put the superstructures in place, frames are great for the business savvy builder or do-it-yourselfer. One two man crew can level the track, place each of the doors onto the tracks, fill frames with lumber and attach a finish cap-plate in minutes without strain or heavy lifting.
